BMUN '18 Theme:

Blurred lines of Sovereignty

“We first fought the heathens in the name of religion, then Communism, and now in the name of drugs and terrorism. Our excuses for global domination always change”. - Serj Tankian

With the questionable ethicality of the War on Terror and the constant injection of radical notions in religion giving rise to unprecedented levels of violence and extremist ideologies, never has it been more pertinent for the International Community to curb this vicious cycle of hate. International terrorism is terrorism that reaches beyond the confines of a nation in terms of its extent, methods used, and people involved. It is a war which knows no borders and has no governing principles to offer it even a fragment of legitimacy.

Delegates prepare to have every aspect of your diplomacy challenged as you debate on issues global leaders have failed to reach consensus on for the past two decades. With the rise of feeders of terror entities, whose unfathomable existence makes terror organizations almost invincible, can you be entrusted to prevent global breakdown of governing machineries at the hands of International Terrorism?

Presenting to you one of the most intriguing committees being simulated at BMUN 2018, the United Nations Counter Terrorism Committee.

Agenda: Discussing the United Nations Global Counter Terrorism Strategy with special reference to the Proposed Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.
